This raffle is supporting The ARCHIE Foundation Tayside Children’s Hospital Appeal for a brand-new twin paediatric operating theatre suite. Your support will help ARCHIE to make the difference for local sick children by working with NHS Tayside to build this new facility and create a truly child and family dedicated environment.
During the summer of 2016 The ARCHIE Foundation provided the project of Oor Wullie’s Bucket Trail with Wild In Art and DC Thomson, showcasing sculptures of Oor Wullie across the city of Dundee and beyond. The auction of the 69 sculptures raised an incredible £883,000 and many of the Oor Wullie sculptures continue to help The ARCHIE Foundation fundraise towards the Appeal target of £2m. We are grateful for this support and we are delighted to be able to offer you the chance to win one of two very special Oor Wullie Bucket Trail figurines hand-painted and signed by the original artists and designers!
You can read more about the Tayside Appeal by visiting our website www.archietayside.org.uk or follow ARCHIE Tayside on Facebook and Twitter.
You could win one of 2 very special hand-painted and signed Oor Wullie’s Bucket Trail figurines, Oor Bowie or Oor JOLOMO!
Prize 1 – Oor Bowie! Your Bowie! A’Body’s Bowie! hand-painted figurine
This wonderful figurine has been painted by the original Oor Wullie’s Bucket Trail artist Rhiannon Moore (Kitchimama) and signed by the designers Martin Lindsay and John Hunter Barrie (Johuba).
What better way was there to mark the 80th anniversary of Scotland’s Favourite Son than by combining it with a celebration of the life and work of Britain’s brightest shining STARMAN – David Bowie, sadly taken from us on 10th January 2016. This design was very dearly loved by visitors of Oor Wullie’s Bucket Trail and a clear favourite to offer as a raffle prize! Artist Rhiannon has also very kindly donated 3 of her own prints to accompany the Oor Bowie figurine.
Prize 2 – Oor JOLOMO hand-painted figurine
Wullie is proudly sporting JOLOMO’s well known Red Roofed croft on his dungarees, a lovely connection with The Broons’ But ‘n’ Ben, which Oor Wullie loves to go and visit. They had a right big party there, one to be remembered!
This limited edition figurine signed by artist John Lowrie Morrison, has been provided by Norman Sutherland from Higher Ground Health + Care Planning Ltd (HGHCP) who won the original bucket trail sculpture at auction. Norman says that “as a lifelong fan of Oor Wullie, I was delighted to be able to purchase a statue and especially happy to win Oor Jolomo! I’m from the Highlands, my wife Sheena is from the islands and Oor Jolomo (like John Lowrie Morrison himself) seems to take its cues from all the places that we know and love. He’s a bit like a bridge between our birthplaces and adopted home. Of course Oor Jolomo’s never actually made it “home” yet as he is still creating smiles and making money for ARCHIE as he tours local establishments across Tayside – currently the Apex City Quay, Dundee. We’re delighted that John agreed to sign this very special “one-off” Oor Jolomo figurine for the charity fundraiser. I hope that whoever wins it enjoys it as much as we do!”
Best of Luck!
